Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2026. Smart CV Maker stores zero user data — ever.
The short version: Smart CV Maker is a zero-database application. Your name, contact details, work history, education, and any other information you enter into our CV builder are never uploaded, stored, sold, or shared with any third party. Data is processed exclusively in-memory to generate your PDF and is discarded immediately afterwards.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
Unlike most web applications, Smart CV Maker deliberately avoids collecting personal information. Specifically, we do not collect, store, or process:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or physical address
- Your employment history, education records, or skills list
- Any profile photo or image you upload
- Your CV content in any form after PDF generation is complete
- Account credentials (because we have no accounts)
2. How Your Data Is Processed
When you click "Download CV as PDF", the form data from your browser is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our server. Our server uses this data to generate a PDF document using the pdfmake library. The generated PDF is immediately streamed back to your browser. After the response is complete, all submitted data is cleared from memory. No part of your submission is written to a disk, database, cache, or log file that retains personal content.
3. Local Storage
To improve your experience — particularly allowing you to switch between CV templates without losing your progress — Smart CV Maker uses your browser's localStorage to save form field values. This data exists only on your own device and is never transmitted to our servers except as part of a PDF download request you initiate. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.
4. Analytics
We use Google Analytics (Google Tag Manager, ID: G-KZ2BRL6DRM) to collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics such as page views, session duration, and geographic region. Google Analytics data does not include any personally identifiable information from your CV form. It cannot be linked to the content of any CV you create. 5. Cookies
Smart CV Maker does not set first-party cookies. Google Analytics may set third-party cookies for session identification. These cookies do not contain any information from your CV builder form. You can disable third-party cookies in your browser settings or use a browser extension to opt out of Google Analytics tracking.
6. Profile Photos
If you choose to upload a profile photo, the image file is transmitted to our server as part of your PDF download request. The image is converted to a base64 string and embedded in the PDF. The image file and its binary data are never written to disk, stored in a database, or retained in any form after the PDF is delivered.
7. Third-Party Services
Smart CV Maker does not share data with third-party services other than Google Analytics as described above. We do not use advertising networks, retargeting services, social media tracking pixels, or any other third-party data processors that would receive your personal information.
8. Children's Privacy
Our service is open to users of all ages, including teenagers creating their first CV. Because we collect no personal data, we cannot inadvertently collect data from children. The Google Analytics integration collects only anonymous aggregate data.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date at the top. Because we do not collect email addresses, we cannot notify you of changes directly — please review this page periodically if you have concerns.
